An indicative estimate. Real flight time depends on flying style, battery age, altitude above sea level, and signal. Always keep a safe landing reserve.

About this tool

The flight time printed on a drone's spec sheet is measured in ideal conditions: no wind, mild temperature, and steady flight until the battery is empty. In the field — especially in the Kingdom's hot climate — the real figure is much lower. This calculator estimates the realistic usable time per battery after accounting for heat, wind, payload, and a safe landing reserve.

What shortens flight time

  • Heat: above 40°C lithium batteries lose efficiency and may enter thermal protection, cutting usable time.
  • Wind: fighting wind raises motor draw, and strong gusts can cut time by more than a third.
  • Payload: any added weight (a heavier camera, guards, cargo) increases drag.
  • Landing reserve: you should never plan to drain the battery fully; keeping 20–25% in reserve is essential for safety.

Plan safely

Enter the flight time from your drone's spec, then choose the day's conditions, the number of batteries you have, and the target mission time. You'll instantly see whether your batteries are enough or you need more, and how many swaps you'll make. The golden rule in hot weather: always plan for one spare battery beyond your estimate.

Common questions

Why are the heat and wind factors approximate?

Because the real effect depends on the drone model, battery age, and flying style. The factors here are conservative and based on field experience; the goal is safe planning, not an absolute number.

Can I fly in peak summer heat?

Yes, with care: prefer early morning or before sunset, let batteries cool between flights, and monitor battery temperature. Extreme heat shortens lifespan and raises risk.
